We're a Community
Ministry seeking to help those with emergency
needs by providing food, clothing, financial
assistance, money for gas and perscriptions, and
other special events such as our annual Angel
Tree program. Our goal is to help raise the
quality of life for residents in Burleson, TX and
surrounding towns.
On average, we assist 2700 clients
per year. Our Angel Tree 2003 program assisted
200 families in having a good Christmas with
gifts under the tree and Christmas dinner on the
table. The 200 families totals to approximately
500 children who's Christmas is a little brighter.
BMAA Harvest House is celebrating
it's 20th anniversery in 2004.

I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I
was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I
was a stranger and you took me in. I was sick,
and you looked after me. I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one of the least of these
brothers of mine, you did for me."

B.M.A.A. Harvest House
We're
a Faith Based Ministry of the Burleson
Minesterial Auxilliary Alliance. Located in
Burleson, Texas. Harvest House serves South
Tarrant County and North Johnson County. Harvest
House is able to help families with a variety of
services.
One
example of what we do would be to tell you of a
family of seven who asked for utility assistance
last December. The husband had recently been laid
off. The wife was to start a new job at JPS as an
LVN. She had delayed starting the job as a result
of her last pregnancy. The baby had been
premature, and had died of complications. Their
electricity was cut off.. on the day of the
funeral.
The
Harvest House was able to assist this family with
food, and assitance with their electric and water
bills, and even with that Christmas....
It's
important to note, our assistance isn't ongoing...
we helped this family until they could help
themselves.
They
didn't want a 'handout'.. just a little help
through a very rough patch. Americans are a proud,
and independent people. This family of seven is
doing well today, on their own, and without your
tax dollars...
Everybody
needs a little help, from time to time....
This is not a 'free ride'.
There
are criteria for assitance from the Harvest House.
For Food: Clients may
recieve one week's worth of groceries one
time in a twelve month period without
demonstrating emergency need. Thereafter,
clients must present verification of
emergency impact to finances.
For Financial Assitance:
Households experiencing a crisis
situation that has impacted their
finances.
For Clothing and Household
Items: Clients may recieve clothing every
90 days. Income must be at or below
Federal Poverty Guidelines.
THe Harvest House is
celebrating it's 20th year of service!
